A partially personalized form letter, which came attached to the eMail as a .pdf. Therefore, the tantalizing suspense was drawn out for a few more seconds until the file was completely downloaded... The wording was quite intricate, even poetic at times, but crushing nonetheless...

Called the department. Extremely helpful and comforting despite the bad news.

I called the division as suggested by the poster below, and they are pretty nice, even though it was bad news. I'd recommend anyone waiting for their decision to call the division specifically. The main admissions number won't tell you anything.

Informal email from POI, followed by formal email from head of admissions the next day. Yay!

Beg for the decision today, and got the rejection signed today :))

Call your program and they will tell you your status. The lady was very nice even though it was bad news. I guess it is UCLA for me : )

I known the reason .....

Others had gotten both acceptances and rejections already, and I'd heard nothing. I emailed them, they told me I was rejected and will be getting a letter confirming this. Well, then.

I never thought I'd get in here anyway so I'm not all that disappointed by this.
