very impersonal form email. this wasn't worth my dollars.

Standard rejection e-mail. Was hoping for better but wasn't sure since I hadn't heard back from anyone within the department prior to my application.

Form email telling me to check application status because it had been updated. Form rejection letter waiting there. Very impersonal, I can totally see where my $125 application fee went

got a lovely email today stating that I've made the "top 20" applicants list and requesting an interview either in-person at an upcoming conference, on campus, or via skype/facetime. Thrilled and hope the interview goes well!!

Update from previous. Found the official e-mail from the department head. Funding was $53,100 for 3 years, on my own after that. Won several scholarships and tuition remission. Subsequent personalized e-mail from department head stating positives about program and telling me I would be a leading force in the departmental research. Declined offer for something better. Good luck to waitlisters.

Updated for clarity from previous. Currently an MSc student here. Found official letter from Grad Chair. $23,500 for 4 years guaranteed, option to extend to a 5th but on a case by case basis. Guaranteed TAship for 4 years. Going to decline as I have better offers.
