Interviewed last Monday, got the results Friday evening. Before the interview, I hadn't heard anything from them.

(Not waitlist, and not the person above asked). TTPB: I heard from my friends at Columbia said that they are now in the spring vacation which will last until 03/08. (Not sure whether the committee will work in the vacation or not). In addition, he said that the physics department has just started the review process (which is quite surprised to me). I am very anxious as well but I think that we need at least one more week for the decision? I am not sure whether the admission status can be asked personally but I will have a try.

?? Wtf is going on in this forum?? I'm sorry y'all got rejected but can y'all please move on and stop projecting so much baseless violence? Like really?? This is so embarrassing.. I didn't even apply to this school or program lmao but plz take a breather and reconsider all the prejudice y'all just spewed. My goodness .. life goes on lol it's OKAY

How about we end the toxic talks? I'm pretty sure Columbia is rolling.

TTPB who said those who didn't recieve an email yesterday are rejected, what's your source? According to past statistics, Columbia does rolling admits. So hopefully those of us who didn't recieve the email aren't rejected YET.

TTPB asking about reactivation - Yes I reactivated my application using the old portal (MICE). Seems a bit odd that they would send decisions to others before reactivated applicants. Did you mail the admissions office?

Apparently the people who got accepted already got their admit letters yesterday? I didn't receive any email so does that mean I already got rejected?!??? :(

Acceptances are sent out in waves. A few must have received offers as they are the very top picks. For the rest of us, rejections might come in a few days (I dunno) but if you are top on the waitlist, this purely depends on if (and when) the first offers were turned down. Feel like Columbia has been very conservative in giving offers this year, largely due to finance. Good luck folks

Ignore the Waitlist. Have any of the candidates who have applied to the PhD (not the masters) program heard back?

I applied before the 12th of december, received the “under review” email on the 18th of february. Haven't heard back, and I think it's very likely that they sent acceptances first and everyone else is rejected.

Just addressing a few queries about the Columbia admit I've seen below. I submitted my GRE score. I applied on 29th December, so before the first deadline. I received an "application is under review" on 19th February.

TTPB: Did you also reactivate your application through the old application system : MICE? The decision status still shows as pending for me. It hasn't even gone for review yet.

did anyone's application status in portal changed from submitted to under review?

Unofficial acceptance. Official results to come soon,

Anything from columbia about MS in Data Science?

TTPB: it's possible that applicants who have applied before first priority deadline have got their decisions.

How many students does Columbia Physics usually accept in a typical year? 10? 20?
