3.4 cGPA from UBC (BA) with 1.5 years of relevant work experience. Offered 3k in funding. Currently trying to defer my admission for 2018 so I can work for a year first and financially prepare for this expensive program.

It's been radio silence from Loyola since I submitted my application at the end of November. I was rejected by all of the Graduate Assistantship positions I applied to so, as a result, LUC was off the table awhile ago. It's also worth noting that the date to notify the other universities I was accepted to to confirm my spot was April 15 so it's disappointing their timeline wasn't more on par with other schools.

RE: Poster from Manitoba: I'm in the same boat. I'm from Toronto (suburbs in the west) and do not want to make the commute but the lack of funding has me second guessing moving out from my parents' place. RE: Poster choosing between ryerson and u of t: I am in the process of choosing between U of T and U of Manitoba (where I live) and waiting on Ryerson. I am on the same page as you- I have big dreams and when it comes to U of T, the prestige is a huge selling point on anyone's resume. It sucks though that one of the most expensive schools provides so little in funding. I also got the entrance scholarship but with living expenses it will majorly suck loan wise.. hoping that there will be a class of 2019 page so hopefully we can find roommates that way or commiserate at the very least.

To the person going to Ryerson (below): I visited Mary Beth last week and she informed that those who accepted their offers of admission will receive an e-mail soon with an offer to attend a mixer with the program's current students and faculty. A welcome package will also be mailed out in a few weeks. Orientation will be held during the last week of August. Hope this helps!

To the poster below inquiring about my difficulty in choosing between Ryerson and UofT. UofT is a 2 year program, costing $36K with only $3K in funding. Ryerson is1 year (with research opportunities AND internship), costing less than $10K, with a potential of $16K in funding. After spending weeks in turmoil, I've finally decided to accept the financial burden of UofT due to the program's prestige. Are you attending UofT in the fall as well?

To the poster below who was recently admitted to MPP at Utoronto, I also applied to Ryerson's MPPA program. What did you find appealing at Ryerson compared to U of T?

Math major, ed minor in undergrad, year long Americorps experience. Application submitted 3/16.

(I'm the same person who got that email on Nov 30th). I'm not sure about how they process international applications. I'm a Canadian, though. I also have a college diploma and a BA Honours from another Canadian university. So I'm not sure what's going on. I agree that if they were going to say no they might have already rejected us. Hopefully no news means good news.

They are extremely selective when it comes to international students.

Finally after more than four months waiting, sadly by now almost all University scholarships will be gone.

Still waiting to hear from Ryerson. I applied early and got an email on Nov 30th saying that my application had been forwarded to a review committee. The longer it takes, the less likely it seems that I'll be accepted. Anyone else apply early and still waiting for a response?
