Found the email in my spam folder! "Academic work not as competitive as other applicants." (I dropped out of school and then returned to finish my undergrad a few years later...it doesn't look good on paper) Bummer. Still waiting to hear back from two other schools.

Got an offer from the program director in person (he is so nice!!) since I was staying in Baltimore for interviews at another program.

To the post below, they asked me to reply by Monday whether I would accept the offer, and I replied yes. I guess they try to filter out candidates who will not accept the offer and send the offer to someone else.

To the poster below, you mentioned that the department wants you to confirm that you would accept their offer. Do you have to reply them before they send out the official letter?

Unofficial offer from the admission chair, he said they can only send out limited number of official offers so they want to confirm that I would accept their offer. Official offer will be sent out this week.

Unofficial acceptance e-mail from POI first thing this morning after interview weekend Feb 1-3! He said they haven't finished the second round of interviews, yet (so don't worry if you don't hear from them for a few weeks).

Invited to interview 12/22, interviewed from Feb 1-3 and received acceptance on Feb 16. Great faculty and definitely high on my list.
