Two interviews followed by informal notification of acceptance in Jan.

Recieved an email at 11am saying I was recomended for acceptance. Offical offer coming soon.

Didn't attempt GRE

Did not submit GRE. No publications, coming from a physical science field with no biology/ecology experience. Previous master's degrees.

Ignore the status. Has anyone received an admission offer or an interview invitation from the BMMB Graduate Program at Penn State University?

Lacking extensive research is the most likely cause of my rejection, I'm not too bummed though because this was a stretch school

Biomedical and Mechanical Engineer double major, biology minor. I have 2 research experiences at my school, the first being a year and the second being a year and a half almost (a BME lab and a Math lab). Working on two publications, one first author that will be published in a good journal most likely (fluidics research). Presented at one major conference, a fluidics meeting, and have done two poster sessions.

5 rec letters, 2 publications, 5 national/local conference presentations, Prospective mentor's research aligned with my future interests and met prior, 3 REUs, 1 co author publication, multiple outreaches, and a 2 year fellowship. I guess it might have been that I am a trained chemist and have not done any upper division biology course :/. Congrats to everyone that go in though!

Email from PI saying that due to current turmoil in the biosciences funding landscape, he will not be taking any students this cycle. Also noted that the university is advocating hiring freezes on all grant funding at least until April.

International, undergrad from a T5 US university, 1 paper, 3 years of CCB research, lots of teaching and mentorship experiences. Good luck to everyone!
