To the poster below (who got admission to Purdue in PhD( Geotech)), did the department inform you whether funding is available and when you could be notified about funding?

"The Geotechnical faculty have completed the review of your file and would like to recommend you for admission." No information about funding . Relived.......... after 5 rejection !!!!!!!!

Not accepted, not rejected. They don't have an official wait list, but I can assume. Should hear something finite sometime after the 15th deadline.

To whom may decline the offer from this school~~Please do it ASAP~~

Found out I was on the unofficial waitlist about a month ago, was unofficially accepted pending funding two weeks ago, officially accepted today, with funding details to follow tomorrow.

To applicants who are waiting for Purdue University responses. Among all the universities I have applied, the Purdue University is the sick one. Late in February, I received an email from the graduate program advisor that they need my official transcripts for formal admission. I sent my transcripts (BSc and MSc) to them. Unbelievably, she told me that they can not accept my transcripts since they are not official. In all these years, all students from sharif University have used the same form of transcripts, even I my self have got other good responses from OSU, UW, UIUC, CSU, Cornell with the same transcripts! Anyhow, I called her and talked with her, even I call the University Graduate Office Advisor, but it was in vein. I think Purdue University will loose many of its applicants due to wrong and unreliable admission system!

I spoke with the graduate program advisor on Friday and was told that some applicants have received responses. They were originally trying to respond to everyone by the end of March. She also said it is unlikely that those who have not received responses yet will be funded. The impression I got was that many applicants have been unofficially wait listed. However, prior to this conversation I told that the structural faculty make decisions as a group and hadn't had time to all get together yet.

To former poster regarding Industrial, PhD: Usually recommended by program means the program has accepted you, and they are only waiting for the graduate school to finish up the formalities/complete the details of the offer; so for what its worth, that would be my best guess. If I'm right, congratulations!

I have sent repeated mails to Purdue after the March 6th mail. I am yet to receive a response. Purdue, wake up !

"Recommended by Program-processing at the Graduate School" what does it mean?

How many people like me is waiting for Purdue ?? On March 6th they told me "At this time, the Civil Engineering faculty are still reviewing your application for fall 2012 admission to Purdue University" . for U ppl , Is there any news after getting this e mail ?

Just a heads up for those on the waitlist - I'm declining my admissions offer today. Good luck!
