If you were accepted to KU, can you let me know if you plan to accept? I am not trying to rush your decision & respect your time. I was waitlisted and just want to know if I stand any chance of getting off of the waitlist (as I was also accepted somewhere else but KU is my top choice). Thank you!

Strong SOP, 3 conference papers (one of them in a major relevant conference) and 1 journal article. All three LORs came from professors I did research with. Met POI before applying and also during the visiting weekend. I have accepted the offer.

To the OII/Social Data Science MSc applicants below: I can only speak for my experience with the DPhil interview panel, but hopefully I can provide a bit of guidance on what to expect. The questions I was asked over a c. 45 min Skype interview: tell us about the most interesting or unexpected finding you came across in your recent publication; what is it that makes your proposed study unique or important; apart from the supervisor you have proposed, are there any other faculty in the department that you could see yourself working with, and if so why; how did you hear about the OII; what are your long-term career and personal ambitions. I think that's about it! More than anything, be prepared to stand your ground and defend your interest in whatever topic it is that most floats your boat - they're a friendly bunch, but will gently test your passion/understanding of the topic at hand rather than merely take your responses at face value, smile, and move on.

To the person that got accepted what was average?

Has anyone heard from Hunter Silberman? I got a call on 3/6/18 from someone asking me to confirm I would not be working full time during the program and haven't heard back since. Is this normal for this program?
