Rejected from PhD but accepted for masters

Definitely agree with the poster below!!! couldn't have said it better myself. save your time and money! I'm currently in a post bac and was really really really interested in their program but wasn't sure I'd get accepted because I would only have 4 classes of CSD at the time of application. I contacted about a dozen people there asking if I would have a chance and got mixed responses, but most of them were just flat out rude and told me not to bother because if my undergrad major had been "art history" they couldn't base my success in graduate school based on half the post bac. my major was actually very related to the field but they still told me it was useless to apply. it would have been my first choice and I was crushed. now I see that they did accept a few post-bac applicants?! avoid them at all costs!!!

For any future applicants: I would not advise applying to San Francisco State. They don't accept very many people at all, they are one of the first applications due (during finals in the Fall semester) and one of the last schools to get back to you. It was a complete waste of time and money to even apply. They interviewed applicants, but didn't even say anything to people like me who did not get an interview. Very confusing.

Website just says 'under review'. I presume I am waitlisted. If anyone is not planning to join UCSD nanoengineeing phd, please reject your offer.

I got an email from the credentialing department saying I was recommended for admission by the CD department, as long as I get my degree and certificate of clearance. Anyone know of a Facebook site or anything for all of us who are planning to attend to connect? Good luck to all :)

No funding information. I'm doubting whether they give financial support to any applicant.

For those individuals who got wait-listed into TSU-San Marcos, how did you check your application status via their website? Did you use "Application Status Check " ? There is no actual applications bar on my applications. I was wondering if someone could respond and guide me in the right direction to check. Thanks.

To those of you who were accepted to attend SF State, would you mind posting your stats? I'm trying to gear up for next year, and it would be helpful to know if it's even worth another shot. And, congrats! Also, what was the question answered below?

thanks for responding. guess we know what kind of people work there, considering they told my entire post bac program that we couldn't be accepted and shouldn't bother to apply since we were currently in a post bac. glad I didn't bother to apply! wouldn't want a lying faculty :) congrats to you though, besides the faculty the program seems stellar!

conditionally accepted with proof of degree and certificate of clearance. 1 acceptance. 4 rejections. will be attending in the fall! so very excited. hang in there guys!
