Interviewed on 24th Jan 2020, waiting for final decision.

Email to check the portal. Sad since it was my top pick, but not surprising. Congrats to those admitted!

Seriously, Chicago? How earnestly are you trying to tell me that I'm an idiot (email ends with 'sincerely yours')? *insert eye roll here* But pretty expected, I guess. Had plenty of time time to prep myself for a rejection from them.

TTPB: I would say no, seeing as I as able to find the website you mentioned with a quick google search. Best of luck!

I had an interview-- but not with any POIs I mentioned in my statement, and they did not seem very interested. I guess I'm not surprised, but damn

Referred to MAPH admissions ("Given the limited number of spaces available in our PhD program, our Department cannot offer you admission into our PhD class. Nonetheless, our faculty admissions committee was enthusiastic about your application and we have asked the Master of Arts Program in the Humanities (MAPH) to consider you for admission.")

I looked up my portal and found a note "Attention International Admitted students: Please refer to the Office of International Affairs website for international admitted students for more information on visa documents." which hasn't been there previously. I clicked the link and the first few sentences on the webpage was "Congratulations on being admitted to The University of Chicago! We hope your time at the University will be academically and personally fulfilling". Does this mean I'm accepted?

was at least expecting a personalized rejection after having an interview :/

Adding my name to the distinguished ranks of the other Chicago rejectees. Email to check portal. No referral to MAPH (possibly because I already have a graduate degree, but more likely because they just really, really want nothing to do with me). Onward!

Referred to MAPH. (I have an MFA.)
