Fulbright phd scholarship grantee, applied to machine learning track, 2 years of industry experience as a data scientist, msc + bsc from electrical engineering, 3 high index journal publications (all with first authorship) +10 conference proceedings (4 of them written during my undergrad), currently writing a book chapter, still rejected without an interview. Strong undergrad research experience in related fields (2 years), High GPA

Interviewed at 12/24. Received emails from the same POI at 1/8, and he said he was working on to create a good offer for me. 2yrs undergraduate research experience. 2 IEEE journal publications and 1 conference presentation. Still waiting for other schools.

For people asking about OSU admission, I did email POI beforehand but did not get any reply before admission. Got one reply after admission though. I have been working as a lecturer at an undergrad institution in my country for a few months now. And I did not attend OSU Graduate Open House.

PoI who I was in contact with earlier emailed to set up a chat this week.
