I had received a couple interviews from Penn in March in which I tried to convince them if they offered, they could count on me to accept it. They told me they weren't going to offer, but when they got turned down by a couple folks during decision week, they circled back around to me on the basis that I'd be the most likely of those they interviewed to accept on decision day. Make sure these schools know you want to go there!!

Originally placed on the wait list and contacted them back in March, only to have Dr. Joyce say that he didn't think they'd take anyone from it. Surprise- I got in! But I've already accepted elsewhere and the funding Boulder offered isn't good enough, so I declined.

Since I didn't get into any PhDs this year, might consider this.

I called in the morning, sent an e-mail, than called again in the afternoon, and another time in the evening. A standard note was sent to my e-mail to check the website. I had called the graduate office manager multiple times but it always went straight to her voicemail. I swear this time the person was there, listening to my message, and only answered this time because I said it was a time-sensitive request. C'mon Austin Anthro... you should be better at answering consistently and sooner!

Also got an email rejection. The "Doctor of Philosophy" bit has nothing to with philosophy or anthropology -- it's the formal name for the PhD degree...

Received an email, no official letter. Email also stated that I applied for a "Doctor of Philosophy" degree in Anthropology. Not sure what that's about.

Accepted with a tuition-only fellowship and waitlisted for full fellowship. Waiting for decisions by some admitted students who haven't notified the admission committee...

Not really a surprise since I was not contacted about an interview which were supposed to have happened by now or latest by next week. Also, research idea was a stretch for faculty interests. Oh well, I have options! 4A/0w/1R
