Yeah, funding has apparently been cut pretty bad. On top of that, Mat Johnson will be leaving the faculty. Bummer. Luckily, I've already narrowed down my choices to two other offers. 4a/1r/1w/3p

handwritten note: "thanks for the strong application." 0a/0w/7r/0p. i hope you all have sunglasses because when i rise from these ashes, i'm a goddanged firebird. i will burn so bright that y'all had better look away lest i blind you with this turnaround. i'm flaming hot starting today. we are talking scorched earth type of writing here. this is all i plan on doing in the wake of this month. i suggest y'all do the same! make them weep at your comeback! phoenixes, baby! we are phoenixes!

waitlisted at IWW. . . for the second year in a row. :/

Thank you to the people who posted about getting their acceptance through the portal! I was getting really nervous about not getting a letter in the mail and when I saw the posts here, I checked and saw that I got accepted 4 days ago!

Typo below, apologies. For the people who keep posting updates about the MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction, Poetry, Nonfiction), please know that you are doing a disservice by listing it under "English" or "GSAS." The MFA degree is awarded by the School of the Arts; it has nothing to do with the Dept. of English and Comparative Literature, which is in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS).

Form rejection letter. Not a big surprise, applied to poetry to hedge my bets.

To UNCW poster below, did your offer include funding?

Notified of financial aid package! $30K plus work study opportunities for the first year :) 2a/0w/2r/7p

To the poster below asking about Columbia, I was called a couple weeks ago and yesterday received an official e-mail acceptance, and my status on the website is now updated, with lots of info about next steps. My guess is that this means they are done making calls, and everyone who was accepted most likely received this e-mail or has their status updated on the website (at least for fiction and poetry, I can't speak to CNF for sure). However, as far as I know nobody has heard anything about waitlists for Columbia, and I think Columbia always has A LOT of movement from the waitlist, so I wouldn't give up hope yet. Good luck!

I checked the portal after seeing some people had posted acceptances via mail, and I had a very nice acceptance notice! I live in NYV, so I’m still waiting to hear back from 2 schools here before I make the move to Chicago. 2a/1r/2p

Has anyone heard anything at all from University of Montana? I know they say mid-March, just getting anxious

Somebody pinch me. 2a/2w/3r 6pending

Got directed via email to check my status, it was an acceptance! I'm also on a waitlist for a GAship--not sure which one--which is amazing/awesome! If anyone knows they aren't going who's been offered a GAship, please let me know as I'd love to go to Mills, but have very limited financial capabilities. Received a rejection from UofO earlier today, so was nice to have an affirmation.

Don't have any hopes for the remaining five unis. So thankful for the only one that wants me. 1a/4r/5p

Accepted to MFA program, waitlisted for TAship! Psyched! 1a/2r/2p
