Undergrad GPA was below 3.0, MS GPA was somewhere above 3.0, likely had some good research experience/letters.

hep-th. Two very strong LORs. One "first author" preprint on arXiv submitted to JHEP and one in preparation. Didn't contact any faculty before, but I guess one professor may be interested in my materials since his research is relevant to mine.

Accepted with a named fellowship. But probably will decline, since already accepted by Harvard

email to check portal the status said submitted but when clicking on pending gives you access to the application where you could see an updated state that they regret not granting me an acceptance.

TTPB: judging by the amount of submissions I guess they already sent all acceptances. Those of us who didn't get a status update will probably get a rejection. Why would they just upload say half of the acceptances in a given day?

Received a generic rejection letter, without referral to any master program. As an applicant with only one bachelor degree, I have to admit that it was a long shot.

To the UIC post: Congratulations on your offer! May I please ask if it is for CB or Quant? I'd truly appreciate your reply! Congrats again :)

Got an email telling me a decision has been made on my application and to check the portal. Checked the portal and there was a generic letter saying I had not been accepted.

TTPB but they also send out rejections on the same day and I didn't see/receive any rejections. Does that mean there is still hope?

Has UChicago finished sending out all the offers yet? Based on the result from last year, it seems that they are likely to send out all offers in the same day.

Received an email at 5pm notifying me that a decision had been made regarding my application to UChicago, prompting me to check the portal. There was a generic letter posted informing me I had not been accepted.

GPA: 4.76/5.00 (summa cum laude). Field: accelerator and beam physics. Summer internship at Cornell and a year of experience in other fields. No publications. Good luck to everyone!
