This came in through the mail after receiving the 3/8 notification on my portal that “a decision has been made on your application.”

No letter or anything, just Notification to check portal. K.

ALL APPLICANTS WAITING FOR IWW RESULTS: After speaking with admissions I have learned that 920 results were mailed on Tuesday. That's all the results. If you don't receive your results by 5/20, you can call IWW admissions and request your results be emailed to you. I am assuming that on 5/20, the portal will update your results as well. GOOD LUCK TO ALL (especially me)

Rejected out of a pool of about 320 applicants, according to an email.

Just to be clear my post below is referring to Iowa Writers Workshop fiction and poetry programs. Creative non-fiction and other programs seem to be on slightly different timelines. And obviously someone could be accepted off the waitlist after notifications go out. Just don't expect a whole new round of fiction acceptances after rejections come out, as if you look carefully at past years that is obviously not how they do it.

To the person suggesting that there are two rounds of notifications for Iowa: I think you may be mixing up Iowa State and University of Iowa Writers Workshop, two separate schools and programs. IWW only does 1 round of notifications, which is clear if you look at the past 2 years. Everyone who hasn't heard anything can probably expect word very soon, but most likely if you haven't been called already it won't be an acceptance. Sorry to be a downer but people should have accurate info.

Had assumed I was rejected after not hearing yet. Received email to check portal in 48 hours and was accepted.

Yo, so 1. I'm pretty sure there are still a bunch of fiction decision letters—with news ranging from bad to okay to good, as far as I'm aware—that they have not yet mailed and might not mail for several days. Probably not worth it to keep checking the mail box (though let's be real I still am doing so obsessively lol). 2. Just curious, @ the people who have received their letters, is your name somewhat skewed to one side of the alphabet? 3. Are they coming through USPS or a private carrier?

To the person who asked about UC Riverside nonfiction...I was accepted via email on February 23.
