To the poster below. I'm still out at Oregon. I asked last Friday if there were others and someone responded yes. I assume we made it past an initial tier of rejections (consider all that posted form letter rejection last Friday), but I have not idea. Hoping to hear back this week. Someone posted a phone call acceptance 2 or 3 weeks ago. So who knows...

To the poster below: without knowing what schools you are talking about, or how much debt, it sounds from your post like there's one program you actually want and another that involves less debt. T. Kealey suggests in his 'MFA Handbook' that you can (politely) inform the school offering less that you've been offered a GAship at this other school, and see if it's possible they can offer anything in the way of financial support. Sometimes there's wiggle room and it's ok to ask.

To my fellow writers: It's decision time for me and I am having the most difficult time in deciding between two programs. Omitting the programs, one is offering me a GAship, and the other is offering me money. While I may be happy in both places, I feel the one without funding will make me happier and give me better opportunities for development. I do need input as either I go into more debt and gain a "better" experience, or go debt-free and still gain an experience, but it be not as fulfilling. Sincerely, Stressed

To the person who got an e-mail acceptance from Brown: Congratulations!! Were you previously interviewed or called by the program at all? I know they've done that in past years and I'm just wondering if there's a chance for those of us who have yet to hear anything from them. Thanks!

Has anyone heard anything from New School Creative Writing with the Children and YA concentration? I’m seeing some fiction, non fiction, and poetry results but none for that concentration. I’m antsy!

Email notice for 'change of application status' sent at 1230am (UMass time)--probably automated. "Letter" explaining my rejection to be expected within 2 days; a mutual loss--I would have really enjoyed working with them. 1a/6r/0w/2p.

Re: the question about Warren Wilson and Bennington. Yes, I submitted to both prior to the March 1st deadline. I submitted to WW on February 20th, and to Bennington around the same time, a few days earlier maybe.
