full funding

Did they accept anyone with funding? Does this department actually exist?

Ooh! An actual letter to go with the previously unannounced web page status change. The letter was stuffed in the doorjamb, rather than in the mailbox, for reasons I do not fully understand. Maybe that is just how New Jersey rolls.

After a 10-15 minute long interview, the graduate director told me that they have only 4 fellowship positions for a few dozen (30 ?) short listed applicants. I thought they have a larger first-year cohort, 4 seemed a little bit small. Any idea?

Called and left me a message around 7 eastern. Called back and had a lovely, casual interview with the director of Graduate Program. 30 people on the short list. Will be trimmed down to 4.

from online status page.

No email, just checked the website randomly and there was a decision.

No one even bothered to contact me... I saw that some others had received rejections and took a look online.

Funding recommended but not yet secured. and this is technically for the Interdisciplinary program in classical studies and ancient history, but it is through the Classics department.

Checked application page status as per other poster--found similarly negative results.

No e-mail, no letter. Just happened to check my status on the website: "Your application has been reviewed, and the Committee has denied admission."

reservedly excited (!) Anyone else on the list? I'm curious as to how long it is.

Full funding.
