Second time applying, finally admitted. Super excited!

Rejected from the PhD but admitted to the MA. Will not attend - already have great offer from elsewhere.

Rejected for PhD but admitted for MA in world history with no option for funding.

Email telling me that there were a lot of strong applicants this year and they were unable to admit everyone promising. Generic, pretty much.

Also admitted to the MA in World History. No funding. New York is very expensive. Sad!

Expected. You know how sometimes when people get rejected they say that it was a bad fit and you wonder why then did they bother applying? Well, that's me. I have my reasons: first, NYU has a good anthro program and second, I really liked this professor whose research is like tangentially related to mine at best but I still thought they were super cool so what the hell. It happens people. Also sometimes you can think that the fit might not be good and they accept you anyways and sometimes you are right in thinking that it's not a great fit. Just my 2 cents.

Didn’t expect this, guess I will be accepting Yale then. Excellent LOR, clear PS, 3.8 GPA from “public Ivy”, 3 undergrad researches, one year working experience in major tech company and above average GRE score.
