TTPB: I will talk to PoI more first before deciding.

Is there anyone from CP accepted at UIUC planning on declining the offer?

expected; referred to CIR; Graduate GPA: 3.74

I won't decline until early April.

I'm urging everyone who has acceptances from UIUC who isn't going there to decline soon. With no other offers, this is mostly my only hope and I'd also be really happy here. Please decline sooner rather than later if you feel positive you're going somewhere else. Thank you.

Well, I guess that's it. Over and Out.

Come home, for the unique flavor of the shattering of the grand illusion. Come home, for another rejection.

Email to check portal. Expected as I didn't get an interview. I have two graduate degrees, research experience, publications, and I spoke with my POI before applying. I just don't know what they want.

Got an email to check portal. Was rejected. I'm surprised because I interviewed, so I was expecting at least a waitlist. I guess my interview went as badly as I thought.

AP. I will likely be declining my spot

I thought I would be rejected because I didn't get an interview invitation. >> "For a bit of context, we face a challenging budgetary situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, like most of our peer institutions, we must admit a significantly smaller cohort than we would in a typical year. Adopting this conservative approach to our recruitment process is especially important because we are deeply committed as a department to ensuring funding to our students as they make progress toward their PhDs. This commitment has forced us to waitlist some outstanding candidates like yourself who would have likely been admitted in a typical year. I note this to signal how impressed we are with your credentials. If things do not work out to admit you this year, we would encourage you to give our program another try in a future application cycle. Though of course I can offer no guarantees."

Email to check portal. IR subfield referred to CIR.

Not surprising, as admits were notified last week. App forwarded to a master's program.

Saw it coming. Received email to check portal. Application materials are being considered for their master's program.

YEEEEESSSSSSSSS!

Absolutely thrilled!
