Had a great interview, was given glowing feedback by staff and current students. Was a little salty to get rejected but oh well.

TTPB I think I applied PhD and then stated that I would be interested in MS if I didn't get the PhD. But, I thought I would be automatically considered for the MS, not have to fill out another application. At this point, I'm not interested b/c of a better offer.

Unofficial acceptance from prof after interview on monday. Canadian who did Math+CS undergrad at UBC Okanagan, 4 years RA experience at Stanford, 3 first author papers and ~8 middle author papers. field is applied ML/Comp bio.

with an option to be reconsidered for masters instead, but I'm ok with some admits already.

To the Columbia posters : Did you all apply to the MS/PhD track ? or only the PhD program ?

Applied during my final year of undergrad. Had multiple summer internships and part time jobs during my bachelor of arts at Sciences Po and at UBC, strong academic record and bachelor's thesis; but clearly not enough years of professional experience to get in. Will try again in a year or two!

Received an email from the Program Director notifying me that I am on the wait list (at the top). If any one who has gotten in is planning on turning it down, I would be so grateful if you did so soon... Congrats to the admits!

They have somehow saying you are considered for MS, is it legit or they have asked everyone?

Gave an interview in Jan with non POI. Got rejection today. There is an option to apply for MS though, is the acceptance rolling based?

I also got the option to apply for a Masters. TTPB, if I didn't have a better offer I would probably do it. I think this is what they're offering to the candidates they would have taken as PhDs if this wasn't such a brutal year (so many reasons why there aren't the normal amount of spaces). Maybe MS would transition to PhD next year?? Anyway, good luck to all.

Something about although I'm a unique candidate they couldn't accept me. No mention about how many students taken.

(ignore waitlist) TTPB: maybe others have more info, but I tried emailing 2 weeks ago, and they sent an automated response that included "The review process typically requires 6-8 weeks after the priority deadline date for a decision to be provided." As if it hasn't already been 13 weeks...
