On a waitlist for funding. Fingers crossed so hard. My top choice.

Checked website after seeing UT Austin post here earlier today.

Rejections are never fun, no matter where from. But I appreciate that it was done via regular mail. Finally, a real letter. Best of luck to everyone!

Sent them a status inquiry via email, they gave me a number to call, I called the number (via skype, I live abroad) and they told me I was accepted. Apparently they'd been trying to get in touch with me for a few days. Very complicated but I'm happy.

I heard somewhere that they were making final decisions last week, but it's been really quiet since then. I know they've notified CNF people already.

Does anyone know when they are supposed to get back to applicants? In previous years it seems by this point they already had....

Kind of bummed, making me worry about other schools. Good luck to everyone who applied.

Sucks for your first response to be a no, but oh well :(

Now posted on MCW's website: "Our final admissions decisions will be made on March 10th, and all admitted or wait-listed students will be contacted directly over the next day or two. This is somewhat later than our usual decision date, and we appreciate your patience in awaiting results. If you are not called or emailed by March 13, you have not been admitted or wait-listed, even though you may not have yet received a "deny" decision from Graduate Admissions (these can be delayed by glitches in your paperwork even though we have denied admission)."

I emailed them about the open house and I was told it was sent out t all applicants and admitted students. They also stated the open house was not an indicator of a possible interview or even a part of the admissions process. They should've just sent it out to admits at this point... :/

Waiting to hear about funding.

Hmm, guess the writing sample does matter more than anything.

Pretty darn good, under-rated program. They are still determining funding; however, I do have a sizable offer from another school, so I will most likely turn this offer down. Hopefully, I can help someone out on the waitlist. Good luck!

Received e-mail from Director of Graduate Admissions to check website. Very excited. Congrats to those who were accepted!

I cried out of joy. I didn't ever expect to be even wait listed at Iowa.
