To the person who asked: I didn't email any professors beforehand but Cornell was my undergrad and I indicated a prof. with whom I had done research work before. I got a phone call because there was an issue with my email address (!) so the other acceptances are probably coming later! :)

Got email to check the notif on youSC portal and saw the admit. Don't know if I'll take it up though. Didn't even submit LoRs. Quite surprised.

Final year student pursuing B.Tech + M.Tech from EE, IIT Bombay. Two first author conf. papers with one at NeurIPS 19. Humbled to receive the accept. No interviews. An email from Head, EECS.

I received the acceptance mail (area: photonics, PI initials not disclosed) around 7pm Eastern Standard Time. In the mail there is a PDF that contains a lot of info about grad life at MIT, but more importantly for the villains who are asking, it says Feb 4th is the date when they send the acceptance mails.

No notification of funding, and got invited to the Graduate Recruiting weekend later in February
