Literature, Ecocriticism. Waitlisted for funding. Very excited!

Accepted but no assistantship offer. Gonna have to pass.

(no interview, no response yet) TTPB: that seems to be the case across the board this year, but other programs have admitted around 5 people; only 1 seems wild. fingers crossed to all of us, best of luck fellow bookworms

Email from grad director with acceptance letter and asking to meet

Canadian Student. Email to check portal where an official offer came in the next day.

TTPB: hi, this is anxious poster from below. Harvard did mention on their English admissions page they'll be accepting fewer candidates this year. Still sucks! :(

TTPB: I've only seen one acceptance and one waitlist on here for Harvard, and it was the same with Yale! - do we think they are only taking a couple of candidates this year? :(

rejected from Ph.D. and accepted to MA instead

Rejected from their PhD program, but accepted for an unfunded MA. They made me the same offer last year—sorry, but that's not going to happen!

Directed to portal via. e-mail where an acceptance letter was waiting. Funding was indeed not really addressed like previous poster noted... Have a PhD offer so will be declining. (3a/0w/7r/1p)

Echoing what others have said, the e-mail was surprisingly kind for how short it was. Congrats to the acceptances! (2a/0w/7r/2p)

very nice email but the whiplash of the mailchimp monkey winking at the end was the funniest thing i've ever seen

Excited but confused about the funding...

My app was sloppy so not a surprise. So great to hear about the poster below who got in. Admissions cycle over, goodbye GradCafe!!

Women's And Gender Studies

Accepted into English/WGS track; Rejected from Language and Literature track Undergrad GPA 3.3 in Spanish Literature and World Language Ed at a school ranked in the 60thish percentile (according to usnews) MS GPA 3.6 in Secondary English Education at same university MA GPA 3.8 in Literature and Cultural Theory with a WGS Graduate Certificate at same university I failed student teaching Spanish in undergrad and again in my first master's degree. I also failed my first master's project. Made up the project retroactively in MA. Briefly discussed history of poverty and mental illness in personal statement as well as an openness to a possible future in alt-ac career. 3 Letters of Rec, one about pedagogy-related strengths, two from relatively famous scholars. I hope this gives some of you underdogs a little hope. I'm still shocked.
