Email to check portal 4a/0w/1r/5p

"sorry to inform you that we are unable to admit you to the Helen Zell Writers' Program at the University of Michigan. You should not view this as a reflection on your ability: we received over 980 applicants this year, and the limited size of our program means that we can admit only a small percentage from this very strong pool." Congrats to everyone who made it!!

Received a mail from one of the Professors, saying I was accepted and that they understood I might have applied to other places and that they were happy to be one of my options now! Have to confirm before the 15th of April or sooner if they award a GAship. Assistantship is a separate procedure altogether and is not awarded automatically.

My first acceptance after 3 years of rejections and wait lists. The head of the department was deeply kind—he said they were 'enthralled' with my work. I look forward to hearing about funding as this is a big first choice for me!

first rejection of the season! to quote meek mill, "wins and the losses, it come with being bosses". 0a/1w/1r/5p

They wait-listed me. I'm pleased but wondering how many other nonfiction candidates are in this pool. 0a/2w/2r/3p

Oh yeah? Well I reject the fact that Wyoming is a real state! Seriously, have you ever met anyone from Wyoming?! Didn't think so. (Kidding. Congrats to those accepted!)
