Waitlisted after an interview, which was more like a nice chat with the program director and a member of the poetry faculty. 1a/1w/12r (on a side note, while I don't want to fill this with more virtrol, I understand being hurt and upset and disappointed by a rejection, but I don't understand insulting the program, faculty, or other people posting here. Most of these programs have a 1 to 3 percent acceptance rate. It's not personal, just as it's not personal with being rejected from journals. Yikes.)

Did anyone else get an email? Received an email from Patrick Rosal, preview-able sentences read "Thank you for your application to the MFA program at Rutgers-Camden. We have read your application with great interest..." Since I'm checking this site more frequently than my own inbox, I assumed this was my acceptance letter. Then the reveal. "...Unfortunately, we are unable to recommend your admission at this time. Competition for admission was especially intense this year. Given the limited number of openings, we must turn away many qualified applicants. Decisions about admissions are a complicated judgment by our creative writing staff about our resources and those writers whom we feel we can most help. Please don’t take the admissions decision as discouragement about your writing. We truly wish it were possible to accommodate more writers of potential. I hope you will accept my best wishes for your future writing."

Just visited campus last week. Very excited!

How rude...no email, nothing...just had to check the website. Probably a sign of how shitty the program is. Oh well.

(Fiction) Received an email with info about how to accept offer and when enrollment begins. No funding/financial info sent or in MyUB portal.

Checked portal. After all that writing, pining, and an expensive app fee, I am left with eleven words: "Your application has been reviewed, and the Committee has denied admission." (7a/1r/0w/4p)

Looks like I'm one of the many and the proud. That portal rejection is raw as hell, isn't it? Little bummed because this was my local program and it means I'll be pretty much forced to move away in the fall, but at least that's one difficult decision I don't have to make.rn3a/3r/2w/1p

Checked the Rutgers-Camden Graduate Portral and saw that I had been denied admission. Oh well. Best of luck to those who got accepted!

Does anyone else from WVU plan on turning down their acceptance offer?

Has anyone been brave enough to contact BU? Do we know anything? Except for one "special case" in Poetry, I don't think I've seen any acceptances yet.

Not quite sure what to do with this news. Hoping for the best!
