First rejection... oh well.

:( Didn't expect to get in anyways, but rejection always hurts. Hoping to get into M.A. programs instead.

Meh. It was a long shot anyway. But it's still a disappointingly impersonal process considering all the time and money we spend putting these applications together.

I wasn't a good fit anyway... but still, and the impersonal rejection ("contact your department if you want any more information") does not make it better.

Ouch, Berkeley. Ouch. But oh well.

got an email from the graduate division redirecting to the website where the decision is posted. did my undergrad here so not unexpected; Berkeley is absolutely wonderful :) good luck to everyone!

HA finally got the official rejection. actually found out last week when I emailed. c'est la vie.

We had 244 applicants and were only able to offer admission to 18 new students. Every application was read by three members of the admissions committee. Your application made it through the first cut that winnowed the files down to about 50, and was thus read again by all six members of the admissions committee.

Not surpised here. Congrats to the 19 students that got in.

Should have been contacted last week by my potential advisor, but heard only today when I got an email about visiting the department... Confirmed on the phone with the graduate advisor - I'm thrilled! I assume that the email sent this morning was addressed to all anthro students since it had about 20 recipients and only 3 students were admitted in the med anthro program... Good luck to all of you!
