No official interview, but a professor said I was on the list and wanted to talk to me early beforehand.

10% of 700 got accepted, apparently

Get an email inviting you to a graduate recruitment event in February. Already have two informal zoom interview with two POI on Dec. Anyone know how the recruitment event works?

Received a standard email stating that they had over 700 applicants and would select only 10% and are thus unable to offer admission to many applicants.

I really loved Berkeley after 5 years, but I guess it's not meant to be. I'm gonna take it as my current PI is using his adcom power to force me to go somewhere else and get new perspectives.

Generic rejection. MS in related field, 4.0, 2 pub “Thank you for applying to the UC Berkeley-UCSF Bioengineering PhD Program. Due to a strict enrollment ceiling imposed by the University and our finite funding capacity, we were only able to offer admission to 10% of our applicants. GPA is Masters GPA. Undergrad GPA 2.99 Invited to a graduate recruitment event in February via email!
