Received an email to check the application status on UCLA grad portal. Found a rejection there.

Really sucks as it was my last one. 0 acceptances. Kinda salty, because even my professors and department chair told me I will definitely get into a school this year, but I guess not. Wasn't a good year for European history Next year tho ????????

If you are holding an offer from USC and are leaning toward another program that feels like a better fit, I would be deeply grateful if you would consider releasing the spot. USC is my dream program and my final hope this year. Wishing you every success and happiness wherever you choose to go!

No email (they said a few days ago it would be Monday) checked portal. Had not established POI, though I also didn’t where I was accepted. GPA is MA, research crosses subfields. 1a/6r/4p

Very sad.

Masters GPA 4.0. Three years of RA experiences and two years in the industry. Twelve peer-reviewed pubs (two as first/corresponding author and three as second author), and a very feel-good interview. No email was received, but the portal shows an update containing the following message on FEB 28: UCLA receives many more applications than there are student places available. Each of these applications is carefully reviewed by a departmental faculty committee. In this extremely competitive environment, many talented and promising students are not recommended for admission by these committees. We understand that this decision is disappointing, and again, there are many more applications than there are places available. Inquiries about your application or the decision may be submitted in writing to: Graduate Admissions Officer, Urban Planning, 3250 Public Affairs Building, Box 951656, Los Angeles, CA, 90095-1656, [email protected].

Hi! Please ignore the status. Has anyone heard from the program?

Currently on the PI's waitlist as an offer to another candidate has been extended. Hi if you're seeing this and have other offer(s) that you're interested in attending more, kindly please consider declining early :) Thank you and wish you all the best with your graduate study!
