3.3 GPA, 2 REU (one at emory just virtual), strong 4 LORs... guess it wasn't meant to be

3.53 gpa in MS chemistry. 2 second author papers. One first auther paper in the making. 3 strong LOR. I wonder why i see all rejects for EMORY. Usually the rejects come after they send out accepts. Maybe due to covid the batch size is too tiny this academic season

Looks like slaughter day for Emory Chemistry lmao. Faculty I mentioned in SOP didn't recommend me to be admitted, seems like a generic email sent out. Best of luck to everyone else in their other applications!

Received an email from top faculty choice mid afternoon. Applied to ten programs, and this is the first response I've received. Worked on one research project at a PUI since freshman year, including two summers (no publications). Interest in inorganic catalysis. Absolutely floored.

No GRE score submitted. Chemistry, math, biology triple major. 4 strong letters of recommendation. 2 years of undergraduate research but no publications.

I'm actually not sure if i want to be interviewed because I don't really remember any ochem/pchem by now.

2.5 years of undergraduate research from a small state school, no publications, two small poster presentations. Great LOR from research advisor (well-known in the field), Mediocre at best GRE. Accepted without interview.
