Postal acceptance, professor email invitation to sit in on a Fiction Workshop, director email--TAship and full-funding!

Received a nice call today. They offered half tuition remission and teaching in the 2nd year.

With teaching assistantship

I contacted Brian Evenson about timing and he wrote: "Not all the fiction rejections have been sent out yet. I am hoping acceptances will go out sometime next week, but it may be even a little longer than that. Sorry to keep you and a number of others waiting..."

Email from Kathy Clowery. Funding pending.

Got an email saying they couldn't reach me on my phone (assume phone is the primarily means of contact). First choice!!!

The last two from ASU and Arkansas are both rejections in fiction btw.

I inquired as to whether all acceptances have been sent and just received an email from Kate Daniels saying: "Not yet. Probably next week." Chins up!

A little bummed, but it was expected. They have a 2-3% acceptance rate from what I've read. It would have been nice to stay in Michigan though.

Sorry - me again (re: the George Saunders post below). To clarify: I've not been accepted (or rejected). I wrote to inquire about timing and got that as a reply.

Email from George Saunders saying they are behind schedule and all acceptances, etc. will probably not be finalized until around March 8. Good luck everyone!

#5 on the wait list for 3 spots in fiction

Mom freaked out when I told her. Like, screaming and crying, praising the Lord, saying how proud she is. She thought I'd finally followed Dad's pragmatic advice and applied to med school. I didn't have the courage to correct her ... Now she has posted it on Facebook. Lovely.

Foreign student (and living abroad), maybe that's why I was contacted via email.
