Received an email to check website. Expected.

3 rounds of interviews. Must have been a tight race this year.

To the other reply: my background is a triple major in math econ and management from an upper tier private school in the states with decent GRE and mediocre GPA. I also have three years work experience in data science / business analytics which the Yale faculty thought was strong. However, this is my THIRD waitlist! no acceptance yet... Fingers crossed!

To the "reply" poster below: Thanks for your kind words! Apparently, I also had an interview with him, but it's on the weekend, in a pretyt awkward encounter (I should have done the interview much earlier). Mind sharing a bit on your stats/background? Did you receive any offers yet? Best of luck to you!

Email to check website. Seems that I throw 105 coins in the wishing well and now finally hear the spring elf inside cries: ouch!

To the Yale poster addressing the waitlist guy: Thank you for your encouragement! I "interviewed" with professor Rudi but he assured me it was not an interview and just a way to catch up. I actually happened to meet him for dinner a few months ago when I happened to be on campus along with a few other faculty. I believe he headed up admissions this year. Wishing you best of luck in your other decisions!

To the waitlisted poster: I hope you would get off the waiting list soon. May I know whom you had an interview with? I had an interview and then was rejected now, so felt pretty shocked.

7a/3w/2r of 20. Second email from a professor yesterday saying that the waitlist was very short (wish me luck!).
