Still haven't heard anything; web portal says 'in review'. Anyone know if this means I'm waitlisted? Something else?

To the poster below, I'm IM track, had several phone calls with different faculties since February, I think they have decided on the final shortlist and will move down the list depending whether the spots are filled.

Reply from the international office regarding funding: "No financial aid award has been offered to you. Please note that our fellowship and assistantship awards are extremely competitive for Graduate students entering your first year of study, and that no separate application was required on your part in order to be considered for the fellowships and assistantships available to our newly-applying students. The admissions committee evaluates applicants concurrently for admission and financial support, and consideration does not require you to contact us directly in order to have your application evaluated for a fellowship or assistantship. Please note that If you do not receive an award of financial support for your first year of study, it is important not to get discouraged. Once you take the classes of the professor(s) you’re interested in working with, and they are able to survey your achievement, this allows you to be considered for funding in your second year. Students usually find your supervising professor in your second semester, which avails you the opportunity to join his or research group, which increases your chances of receiving a fellowship or an assistantship. Please note that the University International Office will need your Form for Certification of Financial Responsibility in order to create your Form I-20 (immigration document). The amount can be shown in a fixed deposit. It is ok to have anyone be your sponsor, as long as we have a letter from him stating that he will financially support your education abroad. If you have any further questions about the cost of attendance or completing your CFR Form and financial affidavit, please do not hesitate to contact the University International Office"

Please decline their offer if you're not intending to attend (especially for nucl-ex/hep-ex). You could do some other students a huge favor. Thank you very much!

Those who got admits without being assigned a supervisor, did you get any funding information?

Rejection is a part of life but what decent students don't deserve or pay such high application fees for is such a curt, offensive, rude rejection notification. They don't even have the courtesy to write one kind generic rejection mail (they didn't even send a e-letter, actually..just pasted the bs notification on the MyStatus page). 'your application has been denied'...n that too 'after careful consideration by review committee'.lol. way to go to make a student feel they are not good enough. These are the schools that make you fantasize of becoming a great scientist some day n pay back by never collaborating with professors of that school. :V

Could anyone comment on whether they are going to make anymore offer?

Did anyone get offers or any news from the Geological Sciences Department? It has been nearly four months now!

Waitlisted for 3.5 year program :( if you know you will not be attending please decline. Does anyone know when I might hear back on an official decision?
