3 research experiences, no publications. Applied to CMT, guess they're hiring a lot of people in this subfield this year, really good luck, still can't believe it.

BSc 3.37 and MS 3.65, graduate teaching assistantship with summer support ($26,760). Got the email from the department head. My subfield is experimental particle physics.

Received an informal acceptance from a primary contact professor. No GRE or PGRE. No publications.

Experimental AMO. Interviewed last Thursday, was informal but they wanted to hear details of my undergraduate research.

2.5 years of research experience, 7 talks at conferences, 2 published papers (one first author), and 1 (also first author) awaiting submission. My GPA sunk during Covid and I thought my chances for getting into a grad school were gone but I'm so happy that I was able to get into at least one!
