3 years of development + research experience, 1 conference publication as 1st author and 2 journal publications (2nd and 4th author). My first admit after getting rejects from many colleges 1.5 years back! Persistence pays :)

TTPB: Thanks for the info. I heard from a group member in my interested professors group saying that they had an American student for school visit before. I'm not sure whether this means that the offers have already been given out or it's just another type of interview.

TTPB: I have heard back from ever other school except Northwestern for EE. I am not sure if admissions are really late this yr or if we are waiting for rejections at this point. However, I have met some EE students in other school visits that have received their acceptance to Northwestern. My area is Nano / Solid-State Devices —RL

TTPB: Thank you for your reply. I believe you've been accepted into CUNY as well into the similar area (POI-RM?). I hope you'll decide as soon as you have all the decisions so that backup candidates might have a chance. Good luck!

Out-of-field international applicant. 3.83 CSD gpa, with lots of volunteering activities and half year of research experience. One of my dream schools!

Average scores/GPA but 2 summers volunteering in a rehab hospital, 2 research lab volunteer positions. Teaching assistant work study and summer childcare positions, 2 summers as a medical assistant as well. I would also say I had strong letters of rec since I was close with my professors. Super excited!!!
