Waitlisted until June 30. It's my top choice out of those left. Not sure if I am happy or sad about it.

Official admission offer after an interview with a professor in mid-March

I emailed to a professor not mentioned in the application just a few days ago and I got a reply today asking for a Skype interview. We immediately set the talk and it was quite optimistic.

Anyone still waiting like me for the PhD admission notification? Any hopes for an acceptance? Have not yet heard anything back from them since December!

'Rolling basis' means that they don't wait until all letters are finalized to send them out. i.e. When a letter is ready, it's sent. So I'd say that letters will be sent out throughout the coming week or two, maybe even later (my letter says that the offer needs to be accepted before April 15th btw).

To the poster below, thank you very much!! But I don't understand what is 'on a rolling basis'. My professor nominated me for department fellowship. 'a rolling basis'--Does it mean that I will not be awarded the fellowship or fellowship is still being sent out?

To the poster below, I got my offer letter on March 11th (yesterday), including funding details. I don't think all letters are sent at once though—usually, it's on a rolling basis.

want to ask if anyone received the official letter? the week before last week my professor said I would receive it very soon but no news yet...

To the poster asking about a note from POI. I also heard from my POI on Feb 26th that I've been nominated for admission and a fellowship... and that "committee will be reviewing nominations.... should know decision by March 10th". Then heard yesterday that I've been awarded the fellowship. Usually, students nominated by Profs have a high chance of acceptance, so you should be fairly confident. But then again, you never know until you get the official letter. Best of luck.

To the poster below, I received an email on 26th Feb as follows from POI: "Just to let you know, I have recommended you for admission with funding, and you'd be hearing from the department hopefully soon".... Is this a positive reply?

Note from POI saying that I have been awarded a departmental fellowship. Systems track. Official letter to come on Monday (March 11), but not sure whether that's a more general wave of acceptances or not. Heard last week that the committee would be reviewing nominations and would make a decision by March 10th, so this notification is in line with that. Good luck to everyone.

Do they still have offers for Phd? Told by POI they are accepting students as group on 2/20, then no update. Nothing hear back so far means doom rejected and will get a rejection letter on early April? Any news would be much appreciated!

Received an email on 2/7 saying that I am “recommended for admission”, and the official acceptance will be sent in 12-14 business days. But haven’t heard anything from the gradate school since then... Anyone got the same email has received official acceptance? Thanks!
