Great school but retarded admins. Rejected but glad to finally know at least. We had more than 100 applications to the doctoral program this year, many with extraordinary credentials. Our decisions are based on a very thorough review, extensive discussion by the committee, and consultation with the rest of the faculty. We take into account a broad spectrum of factors: grades and test scores, general educational background, prior experience, statements of interest, and letters of recommendation. We seek exceptional aptitude for doctoral study, commitment to research, and fit to the current research agendas of faculty and the School. Because our doctoral program represents an intensive commitment of faculty time and financial resources, we are able to admit only a small number of candidates.

Regular email saying they received about 100 applications, limited seats, etc.

To University of Michigan, School of Information guy below: When did you receive the rejection? Was it through email or website?

Bless me with the other one! Plzzzzzzzzz!

Official acceptance letter with 3 years' funding

No word on funding

I know some applicants have already received admission acceptances, and some decisions regarding wait-listed have already been sent out. But this is what I got. "Faculty are continuing to consider applications and have not yet made a decision on yours. As you might imagine, it is a complicated process matching doctoral applicants' education, experiences, and aspirations with faculty research areas and funding sources"

Winter 2015

Very generic reply. I asked about admission status. Then after one day they sent rejection email. I wouldn't apply. One of the professors asked me to apply seriously. Application deadline was over but that professor managed necessary things to apply after deadline but finally rejected. Not a good way to reject after telling to apply. Have good research and teaching experiences with publications. Don't know what they look for. Professor should not tell me to apply after the deadline if she is not taking.
