Emailed saying I was the "alternate." Less spots this year due to lack of funding.

Like below, I was notified that I was listed as an alternate due to cutting down admissions.

Received a letter in the mail. Told I have a very strong application, but they have had to cut the number of admitted applicants this year. I will be notified immediately if they accept me.

First alternate? (which I think is different than wait listed).GPA is from MTS. Congrats to all those who got offers. [But, for real, you don't wanna come to Nashville. It's a terrrriiibble place ;)]

POI called me to tell me that their spot in Historical Studies went to Reformation this year. Since I study American Religious History, I didn't have much of a shot from the get go this year.

Accepted via admissions portal website with 80% funding. So excited - it was my first acceptance! Congrats to all and good luck!

I emailed the GDR office to ask about my status, and rather than replying to me, they sent an automated form email saying my application status had changed.

Response to previous post: I also haven't heard back from Vanderbilt.I gave them a call about a week ago, they said they hadn't made any final decisions. It's getting a little late in the game, especially considering they had one of the first deadlines. I'm getting pressure from other schools about making a decision. It's frustrating.

Did anyone hear about the decision from Vanderbilt (PhD in Religion)? I see some acceptance but not rejection this year yet. It's already quite late and I'm wondering why the delay.
