I applied to their PhD, but got a notification that I was accepted into their MA program?

I never received an email nor an official rejection letter, but I noticed my program had been changed to English MA despite me applying for a PhD, so I will assume this is a rejection. No Interview. Received a letter from the department head. Honestly, this one really surprised me. I had no communication from them whatsoever until now and I accidentally submitted the wrong SOP. Pleasantly surprised. (This makes it that I've officially gotten into 6/10 programs, so feeling good about that!)

Emailed department directly after seeing another person do this and got the rejection. This cycle is absolutely brutal, with how many applicants there are and how little spots are being offered due to cuts. Frankly, to get any acceptance is a win at this point. 1a/0w/6r/3p
