Expected, grateful they didn’t wait until April 15 like last year

Emailed the graduate programme director because I couldn't wait any longer due to another deadline. Apparently, rejection due to lack of capacity of my proposed supervisors.

Received reply to a message I sent to the DGS office - Informal rejection, with formal update following soon. Dejected but trying again next round... Rejection message suggests it may have been down to a lack of room with my prospective supervisor and a balance in the cohort.

Was accepted last year, but decided to put off grad school for a year to work abroad. I guess it was more competitive this year.

GPA is from MA is UK/US equiv. Only applied to this program after being rejected from PhD. Wasn't planning on anything coming of it. Was not actually notified; only saw the rejection when I went to remove myself from the application pool since my fiancee accepted a PhD program across the country. 1a/1w/3r/0p

Last decision of this cycle. I'm a bit bitter about this one since they took way too long to send rejections and I applied in November. If it's meant to be then it'll be, I guess. 0a/11r/0w

Email from Judith Goldman. Funding was slashed and she said they've been scrambling to figure things out (re: why its taken so long).

Please disregard the decision box indicating "Waitlisted." I would like to know if NYU has released all decisions for English PhD applicants. I have not received any communications from them, so I emailed to inquire about the status. About a week ago, I received a response stating that the decisions would be released shortly. However, I still have not received anything. Due to this uncertainty, I am unable to accept another offer while I wait for NYU's decision. Thank you!
