I am pleased to invite you to attend our University of Washington Bioengineering Department Visit from March 12-14th in Seattle, WA. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to meet with our faculty and graduate students, tour UW laboratories and campus facilities, and learn more about life in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. For candidates residing outside the Seattle metropolitan area, the Department will cover the cost of a round-trip economy flight, provide a $400 lodging stipend, and cover most meals during your visit. Please note that candidates are responsible for any airfare or seat upgrades, luggage fees, and transportation to and from their home/departure airport. Local candidates may apply for a $150 transportation stipend to help offset mileage, parking, or related expenses. Unfortunately, the department is not able to host candidates at an alternative time. Our goal is to offer funding packages to all accepted PhD students. To ensure we can offer the most comprehensive and accurate funding packages, admission and funding offers will be decided shortly after this visit event. While attendance at our campus visit is not mandatory to be considered for funding, an in-person visit is crucial to ensure prospective students are well acquainted with our department, and that our faculty are well acquainted with our prospective students.
