Not too surprised. They were only accepting one candidate this year and were looking for someone from more of a musical background than engineering background.

Rejected - as expected, since we didn't hear a thing until now.rnrn"Dear [NAME],rnrnThe Graduate Admissions Committee of the Department of Music has reviewed your application for admission to our graduate program. I regret to report that the department did not admit you to the program.rnrnAs I am sure you know, the number of applicants for graduate study far exceeds the number of those whom we can admit: Each year many strong candidates in all fields must be turned down. I can only assure you that the evaluations and decisions were made with care by our faculty.rnrnWe wish you the best of luck in reaching your academic and musical goals."rnrnThanks, fam. Would love my $125 back of course, but in some ways this generic email was priceless :')

Short, generic rejection email

The rejection letter basically reads "Thank you for your donation."

Accepted for Secondary - Social Sciences.

TTPsB who got an interview invite from Stanford end of January, have you heard anything about your admission decisions? Accepted/rejected/waitlisted?

Rejected by every other program... But I guess miracles do happen.

Response from the Admissions Office: Notifications of interviews have been sent out. Although the admission decision has not been fully determined, the PhD program of Sustainable Design & Construction rarely admits people who have not been interviewed and have not studied at Stanford. Really sad. Good luck to those who received the interview.

Of course.

POGGERS

TTPB: thanks for sharing the info! but it's interesting that my status has been complete a long time ago but i just checked and it becomes to 'ready for review'

This is for the part-time MS EE (HCP) program. No GRE. No research experience. 2 years of work experience in FAANG. Multiple internships at top companies (Tesla, Amazon..etc) B.S. in Computer Engineering from a very low-ranking University. Not sure how good my SOP and rec letters were. The rejection letter didn't mention the reason besides that there were many qualified candidates. Feels bad getting rejected from a cash-cow program...
