Invited to open house, not an acceptance

Friendly email from the coordinator. Looks like they're trying to fund everyone, which means they have to shrink the admitted cohort size.

To the poster below - I checked it on the MyStatus web portal.

For anyone lurking: I had a video call with my prospective a few weeks ago and when I asked him about a visit weekend, he mentioned that they weren't doing one this year. Can anyone else confirm this?

Mechanical undergrad. 2 years research experience and publication in non astronomy field. 5 months( still going on) full time research in astronomy.

Pretty generic rejection. No further insight given.

First received an e-mail from POI and then an system e-mail to check the website on decisions.

I’m surprised I wasn’t outright rejected because this was a big stretch in terms of fit for me! Congrats to those accepted.

To the Master's poster below - Yes, my status is still "in review". It's probably the same for everyone else.

Emailed the dept. and got the following response: Our admissions committee met last Wednesday. They are working on creating financial packages for each applicant selected. I know you are anxious, but please stand by a little longer. I hope they let me release the letters early next week.
