"As Director of Doctoral Admissions for the English Department at NYU, I write to let you know that our Committee looked very favorably on your application. Because we make so few initial offers, I cannot now offer you a place in the entering class. However, you are now on a very select wait list for admission. I understand that this is not an ideal outcome for you, but I want to emphasize that it really is a considerable achievement given the number and quality of the applicant pool."

Decent LORs and SOP. 1 International Research internship; No publications though. 2 years industry experience as a Software Developer. Excited !

Got an admit to GaTech little later, will probably go there and decline this for others. All the best.

BITS Pilani EEE undergrad. Very little research experience. 2.5yrs of relevant work ex.

Bachelors in CSE from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Strong LOR's, Won hackathons in AI/Computer Vision. Also, Yann LeCun for the win.

I was rejected by the NYU's Phd linguistics program, I received an E-mail from NYU today, suggesting that I can apply for the MA program. Does everyone who is rejected by the program receive such an email? Is it worth applying for? Anyone knows? thanks

Was a dream school. But likely will decline in favour of UMD or UMass.

First admit! Finally!

Accepted off of the waitlist!
