Did you guys receive a shady email that says you are rejected and still the portal shows a review in progress?

Ignore waitlist. Does anyone knows why there are frequent acceptance at some random time but never heard about waitlist or rejection yet. I am eagerly waiting for UW.

Generic rejection. 3 astro projects, 2 other. No paper yet. No GRE.

Applied for AMO; 9 mos. research & 1 poster in non-AMO field; 2 summer research internships. (1a/6r/3p). GPA dropped from December to January.

HEP-TH. 8 publications in JCAP, PRD and Nuclear Physics B. 1 article peer reviewed for a hepth journal. 3 years undergraduate Physics and Mathematics teaching experience as a full instructor at many universities. No GRE.

HEP-th. Research experience for more than 3 years. Currently doing a Masters at a top UK university, 2 papers, 990 Physics GRE. Finally, the wait is over! This is my second year applying and this year also had to see a few rejections till now. For those who are still waiting, don't lose hope. For first-time applicants who have not been accepted yet, don't give up. Find an opportunity (may be a really good masters program place or a project) where you can keep on learning and working in the field of your interest so that you come back with a better profile the next time.

Rejected. Kinda surprised since I considered it a safety? Goes to show how much a bloodbath this cycle is for Astro students. I have other offers at least.

Did anyone else get an interview invitation from this school? Does anyone know if they do interviews with all the applicants or only with some filtered candidates? I was asked for a 15 min brief interview with two professors from my subfield. (I'm an international student)

Received an offer by email. Nucl-ex. $24,500 TAship annually for the first two years.

Has anyone else who was admitted heard anything about funding other than the total 5-year value given in the acceptance letter?

Grad GPA. Two line boiler plate email from grad coordinator, didn't even have my name on it. No interview. Both Astro profs are retiring (my field), but W.E., it is UMaine, a MS physics degree with a 3.91, who are they looking for?

Ignore waitlist. Have any international students who applied to Toronto heard back from them at all? I emailed them and they replied that they have started accepting or rejecting domestic applicant since Jan but will consider international applicants till mid to late March. Is this true or a soft rejection?

1 1/2 years of internships and research at national labs. Introduced to faculty by internship advisor. No pubs (yet). My rejection letter was literally two sentences long. This feels like a slap in the face.
