MSc from ETH Zurich, more than 2 years research experience, 2 co-author journal publications, 3 solid LORs.

After Stanford, second reject in a row. Really disappointed :(

Shocked it was this early and sudden - not so much by the result .. realized that after applying that I wasn't that good of a fit for their program .. oh well .. good thing I had my weakest recommenders here

However, this does not mean that if you decide to enroll at Purdue, funding your studies on your own, that you are not eligible for future funding. Once you have the opportunity to attend classes and meet the faculty, they may nominate you for funding in subsequent semesters - although this is not guaranteed. About 55% of the current Civil Engineering students are funded within the School. The remaining students either fund their studies on their own or search out funding from other departments on campus." -- MEH

Accepted with half-time TA position, $13,000 stipend. I have already received better offers from PhD programs so I will probably decline.

15k "half-time" assistantship... Doesn't seem like much
