very polite reject,they wanted to accept me but their position was full

After months of waiting I finally got accepted today! Thanks to everyone posting news and updates, you made this waiting-time easier. God luck to everyone still waiting!

So happy that they have at last updated...even with a reject.

No news even for internationals after may 15 . at least after a long time of waiting , it will be so good if they accept us for spring like some universities with much applicants did.does a miracle may happen?

After a looooong time, got the rejection. I am good at being waitlisted and then rejected. Seems that I will never be accepted anymore

Finally they announced the decision. Very disappointed. I dont know why should I wait this long?

I am really disappointed with UBC since its been almost 8 months since I applied to the PhD in Structural Engineering program. Last time I contacted them they said that they are waiting for final reviews and will contact me as soon as possible. Lets hope for the best and good luck to everyone!

To the computer science applicant inquiring about others' notifications, I'm still waiting, for structural engineering. This is honestly getting ridiculous. I've now been admitted to UCSD for over a month because I didn't want to risk waiting for UCLA and saying no a guaranteed place at UCSD. Logistically, UCLA is my first choice because I can commute there from home, but at this point I'm questioning if it's worth going there is it's taking this long for them to review their applicants.

I'm not too sure how intense they are with admissions. I submitted my application a couple days before May 1st (deadline for my program) and received notice of acceptance. I did not have to go through an interview?

To the poster below, I contacted Prof. Simonetti three day ago. He replied that I will receive an official letter for the rejection. They even dont bother to send out the rejection. Crappy school!

That's great..Good for you! I am a Canadian citizen still doing my undergrad at the best university in Lebanon (AUB), with a gpa of almost 3/4..my application isn't complete yet..it will be in a week as the deadline is at June first..Thanks for the info and Best of luck!
