Called office to ask my status, secretary said I was in Limbo because a faculty member expressed interest in my application, but had not accepted me yet. She said all other rejection/acceptance letters had gone out, and that I would probably not hear until after April 15. To the poster below.. are you planning to contact your faculty members of interest after being waitlisted?

To say I'm crushed is an understatement. My only rejection during this process, and it had to come from my dream school...the place I've been picturing myself for years now.

Engg. Physics undergrad from IIT (India), Good recos, 2 summers- one at US national lab, no publications, past research highly disconnected.

Called the office to check on my status. Was informed that I am in a "limbo state" - not rejected but not accepted first round either. Will not get an official decision until after March 15.

Out-of-fielder accepted to the three-year track. Experience tutoring adults and children and working in an inclusion preschool.

Contacted them once the deadline had passed. Learned they are waiting for those they've accepted to get back to them before making more offers. No one has been rejected yet. Next round of acceptance letters goes out after April 15.

Accepted to the 3-year program for out of field students. Very excited!

I'm genuinely shocked and humbled. This was a reach. I have a low overall GPA, but a high comm GPA (3.93) and a high last 80 hours (3.87). I plan on accepting this offer.
