No new updates or interview? Has anyone received any application results?

Got an email saying that I am finalisted, invited to the campus for a final “evaluation” maybe? I am happy to be considered still. But that means I have to visit Seattle from Beijing in a day... daunting challenge

Semi-finalist Zoom interview on Jan. 21st. Invited today, as a finalist, for a campus visit at end of February. Funding decided shortly thereafter.

Frustration abound. Very unexpected

To the posters below: I actually went to UW for summer research, and had a reco letter from within the biostat dept. Still rejected. Speak of surprises.

I go to an ivy, and my advisor was quite sure I'd get an admit from UW. This was an absolute surprise, to say the least.

Expected. I have been rejected by UW SPH 3 times, including masters and doctoral programs in two fields. To all the rejection posters below, I wonder if we don't have a specific gene to get admitted to UW. Totally couldn't figure out what they are looking for in an applicant.

This is the third rejection from UW. I was rejected by Biostat MS in 2016 and Biostat PhD this year, but didn't expect they would reject my Epi MS application since I already had a Biostat master degree from a top public health school and two years of research experience in Biostat/Epi. So surprised.

I'm from an Ivy-Plus with a pretty good record, and 2 papers in submission. Not sure what else I should've done to make it here....
