Applied for theory, cold rejection... anyway, I've already got offers from other top schools

Over 4 years of research experience (2 years part-time in undergrad, 1 summer internship at top biomedical research institute, 2 years full-time post grad). 2 publications (1 accepted in high IF journal, 1 in revision in ok journal). 9 poster presentations at several local, regional and national conferences. 3 strong letters of recommendation. Accepted to DOW-MIT Access program as an undergrad. I don't think they were able to look past my undergrad GPA and GRE scores (as if they even matter in graduate school lmao). Congrats to all of you who did get accepted!

Any acceptances or interview calls for Masters?

I want to know about MIT EECS admission procedure. Do I have to contact to the POI after getting an acceptance from the Admission Committee? I'm asking this because I can see some people got an acceptance from their POI in other departments, but I cannot see those who got acceptance mail from the POI in EECS.

To the poster below, congrats! is your final degree objective masters or PhD? is it common to be interviewed for a mech E masters at MIT?

Undergrad student from IIT Madras (GPA-9.88, 5 publication (IJST, Physical reviews, and conferences) Interview with two poi (initials-DMP), I mentioned in sop. AOI: Solid mechanics and also interested in CFD. Reco from three strong POI's from IITM, MIT, Harvard, as I interned w them. Interview was short of 26 mins, discussion about previous projects. Offer letter to arrive soon.

Good GPA and GRE scores; 3 strong LoR; One pub in preparation; Contacted a professor. Received a Skype call saying that I am admitted. The committee has finally finished the admission decision procedure. Formal offer will be sent in a few days. Really excited!

TPB: I had my EAPS interview this week. Don't know whether all interview requests have been sent or if every potential candidate is being interviewed, sorry. Good luck!!

Does anyone know whether EAPS will give an interview to each potential PhD candidate ?

Deeply shocked by the decision. Got an email last night before 12am from the professor. Apparently it was 3 am at east coast. Really surprised.

MIT EECS rarely requests an interview. When they do, it's usually to see the personality of the candidate. Most students are admitted without an interview, so don't worry if you didn't got one.

Did anyone get interview requests from System/Networking/Architecture related fields?
