1st rejection...It stings. Oh well. Good luck to those who get in!

I am writing to let you know that we have not been able to recommend you for admission to the Master’s of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing at Syracuse University. This is a complicated judgment which depends a great deal on the abilities and opinions of those instructors here who must be able to feel that they could clearly serve the development of your writing. Their consensus not to recommend admission to the program should in no way be interpreted as a discouragement of your writing. I know this news disappoints you, and I want to express my sincere best wishes for success in your alternate plans for graduate study. Thank you for your interest in Syracuse.

Oh-so-elegantly written form letter.

With a TA-ship! :)

For Syracuse: Not yet for fiction (expect towards the beginning of March), but there were poetry acceptances gone out by the end of January.

Email was very nice and very much a form.

Told I would hear about funding within the next week.

Dang! Not surprising since accepted & waitlisted applicants were admitted a few days ago. Congrats to those who got in. :)
